WOMAN OF CLAY
An outrageous gospel story unveiled
In her mind’s eye, she saw herself cowering as the blur of that first stone hurtled towards her, its keen edge cutting into the soft flesh of her neck. Then another, striking her on the temple with a head-splitting blow, stones slamming into her from every direction until . . . She felt the terror of death and heard her own screams inside her head. “God have mercy on me,” she whimpered.
Driven by a burning quest for happiness, Shana sets out to embrace all that the world has to offer, casting off the legacy of her father’s rejection. Or so she thinks. Instead she slides down a path of self-deception, passion and turmoil, sacrificing the love of a good man to satisfy a need she can’t identify. A controversial young rabbi claims her heart and gives his life in exchange.

ENTHRALLING READ Vicky Emmerson, South Africa
I so thoroughly enjoyed this book, and this from a woman who does not read novels, ever! I could not put it down! I highly recommend this book, especially for women who have really struggled in life with the things Shana did, but for any woman this book is an enthralling read.
AN EASY READ WITH SURPRISING DEPTH Anne Cowles, France
I found myself quickly drawn into the plot and to the true-to-life main character, a person who quickly starts to discover the truth about her own vulnerability and imperfections. I was fascinated to follow what happened to her after a particularly life-changing encounter. Ms Caddick has clearly done her research homework and I enjoyed her Biblical insights. This is a very enjoyable book which will provoke thought..
A DELIGHT FROM START TO FINISH Barbara Peirson, South Africa
`Woman of Clay' took me on a spellbinding journey and I felt bereft when the story ended. The tightly woven plot transports the reader through the magnificent scenery of the Holy Land, back to those 'crucial' days two thousand years ago with unerring clarity. This tale of one fallible but lovable woman tells the timeless truth of God's grace.
COULDN'T PUT IT DOWN! Elisha German, USA
I loved how easy this book was to follow, as well as the biblical facts that were in this novel. It was fun to read a book where the plot was modern but was from the biblical days. I'm not much of a fan of historical fiction but this was one where I was glad I gave it a shot. I don't regret it and I would read this book again.
LOVED THE CHARACTERS Kari Doorduin, South Africa
I found Women of Clay one of those books which you want to sit down with and not get up until it is finished. And then, after the first read, to read it again and let it sink in to a deeper level.
LOVED IT! Moira van der Westhuizen, South Africa
What a fresh, lovely book to read. Linda has the uncanny ability to transport you right into another world with her writing. Written in suberb detail with a lovely focus on the charming landscapes and character's emotions. A touching, highly recommended read.
WOMAN OF METTLE
Is any sacrifice too great for the Kingdom of Light?
Marriage and motherhood brings happiness beyond Shana’s expectations. Safe in her small agricultural community, the recent outbreak of persecution against the ‘followers of the Way’ in Jerusalem is distant enough not to affect her, and she is determined to keep it that way.
Little does she know, she is about to walk through the fire. How much is she prepared to suffer on behalf of another? Things get dangerous when an ambitious young man crosses her path, especially as he holds the key to her future. To survive, she must employ all her feminine wiles. In spite of her imperfect pursuit of the Master, his exceeding grace sustains her in her darkest hour. But when it’s all over, will love still remain?

TRULY RIVETING STORY Fiona Cummings, SA
Another compelling read by Linda Caddick. The reader becomes part of the ‘adventure’, feeling every emotion and physical anguish of the characters in this book. Another exceptionally well written narrative with skilfully selected prose.
The author is passionate about her writing and it is evident in the way she creates great characters, great plots and great action. She is fast becoming a writer worthy of recognition.
Linda captivates her readers, enticing them to continue non-stop to the very last page. You won’t be able to put it down.
LEAVES YOU GUESSING AT EVERY PAGE Regis Rosset, SA
It was with some apprehension that I started Woman of Mettle, the sequel to Woman of Clay. Was there really more of a story here? As much as I enjoyed the first book, it seemed to me that all that remained was living happily ever after. Once again the author proved me wrong and I found myself gripped in a whirlwind story-line and suspense-filled chapters! A definite maturity in writing is apparent as the author seems to have settled into an identity and unique style as a writer. Nail-biting cliff hangers and shocking outcomes leave you guessing at every page as you once again embark on a journey of adventure with Shana, this time getting caught up in the persecution of the early church. A thoroughly absorbing read that can be enjoyed with or without the first book.
ENJOYED THE STORY TREMENDOUSLY
Joan Stanford, Ireland
A very good story with unexpected twists which made me want to find out what happened next. The descriptions, as always, create such a strong atmosphere. A wonderful sequel!
A NOVEL OF CHARACTER Kari Doorduin, South Africa
Woman of Mettle was a very good read, very gripping. I found the characters a little more advanced than in Woman of Clay and I enjoyed the dialogues a lot. Shana's spirit and intelligence is beautiful and I found myself wishing I could be more like her. I enjoyed Josiah's character - so clever and sure of himself. As in Woman of Clay - I found myself drawn into this part of the Bible - as if I was a part of the story.
CAPTIVATING! Amazon customer, USA
This captivating authentic novel places the reader in that time and place and draws you to the Bible. It is much better if read after the previous novel, but could stand alone. I immediately checked for a third book.
IN THE PIPELINE
- THE STORY OF TWO - the amazing true story of how God re-united a mother and daughter. And then her father.
- CONSEQUENCE OF CHOICE - Do you ever wonder how different your life would have been if at any point you had chosen a different path?
